Spain Wins 2026 World Cup With Triumph Over Argentina
Football does not usually go as planned.
When the stakes are as high as the World Cup final the nice football is often forgotten and the teams just try to survive.
It was an exiciting game especially in the second half. The half time show consisted of performances from Madonna, Shakira, Justin Bieber and BTS.
At the end of the second half, Spain is the world champion again.
The final match was very tense and rough. It was not very exciting to watch. It took time for something to happen and that is when Ferran Torres scored the goal that won the game for Spain. They beat Argentina one to zero. It was not a game. It was not pretty to watch.. Nobody cared about that when the final whistle blew in New Jersey.
The trophy is going back to Madrid.
For over one hundred minutes Spain tried to score against Argentina. They could not get the ball past the defense. They had chances but the goalkeeper, Emiliano Martínez was amazing and stopped every shot. He almost helped his team win the game.
Almost.
Argentina was trying to defend their title. They had the weight of history on their shoulders. Lionel Messi, who is probably playing in his World Cup was trying to make it a special one.. Spain just kept pushing and pushing and they slowly wore Argentina down.
The numbers showed that Spain was in control of the game even before they scored. Spain had the ball most of the time. They were always attacking. Argentina was just trying to hold on.
Then something big happened. One of Argentinas players, Enzo Fernández got a card, which means he had to leave the game. This made it very hard for Argentina to play. Spain saw their chance.

In the one hundred and sixth minute Spain finally scored. Ferran Torres got the ball in the penalty area. Scored a great goal. This was the moment that won the game for Spain.
After that Spain did not let up. Argentina tried to score. They could not. They were missing one player. It made it very hard for them to attack. Messi tried to make something happen. It was not enough.
When the game was over the Spanish players were very happy. The Argentine players were very sad. There was an argument between the players but the officials stopped it.
This win is very important for Spain. It is the time in their football history. They won the European Championship in 2024. Now they have won the World Cup. They have a team with many young and talented players.
For Argentina it is an ending. They fought hard but they could not win. If this was Lionel Messis game it is a sad way to end an amazing career.. He will always be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time.
This game will not be remembered for being a football match. It will be remembered for the fact that Spain never gave up. They kept trying and trying. They finally won. They were patient. They waited for their chance.. When it came they took it.
Sixteen years after winning their World Cup Spain is once again the best team, in the world.
